James Mundschenk service Monday
Funeral service was held here Monday for James Leland Mundschenk, 47, who died in Ventura, Calif., Jan. 11.
Mundschenk who was born in Torrington Jan. 26, 1930, the son of George and Clara Mundschenk, graduated from Manville High School in 1947 and attended Casper College in 1960.
He worked for the Northwestern Railroad in 1948 and the pipe lines until 1950 when he was employed at the Conoco Station in Lusk. He was a member of the National Guard and began employment at the Armory in 1951 as assistant administrator and later as a warrant officer.
In August 1953 he was married to Patricia Hytrek, and they were the parents of four children. He was employed in the Shirley Basin area in 1962 and in the fall of 1965 moved to Ventura, Calif., where he worked at various jobs until a nervous condition hospitalized him for several months. In 1970 he began work in the Poinsettia Bowl Bowling Alley as a scorekeeper; a job he held until his death.
The Rev. Frank Bozart conducted the funeral service held at Peet Mortuary Chapel. Mrs. Edna DeCastro was organist and soloist was Mark Lohr. Songs were "Rock of Ages" and "Saved by Grace."
Casket bearers were Harold Mundschenk, Clarence Mundschenk, Paul Mundschenk, Duane Lull, Robert Shepard and Max Mundschenk. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents of Manville; five brothers, Clarence Mundschenk, Elk Mountain, Paul Mundschenk, Billings, Mont., Harold Mundschenk, Palatine, Ill., Duane Lull, Casper, and Robert Barnes, Salt Lake City, Utah; five sisters, Wilma Jones, Los Angeles, Calif., Alyce Conroy, Ventura, Calif., Edna Wenant, Bennet, Nebr., Dolores Shepard, Laramie, and Maxine Matson, Lander.
