Robert E. Middleton

Robert E. Middleton, age 88, of Greeley, Colo., passed away in September 21, 2004 at the Bonell Samaritan Center in Greeley. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2004 at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk. Interment followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Robert Ernest Middleton was born on July 7, 1916 in Montrose, Colo., to William Edward and Mabel Salisbury Middleton. He was one of five children. Bob's schooling was in Loveland. He later attended NCC Greeley University where he attained a Bachelor's Degree. He later earned a Master's Degree at Hill Air Force Base in 1981.

He married Annabell Goble in Denver, Colo., on June 17, 1960. They moved to Cheyenne in 1960. They spent one year there while he worked as an accountant for Frontier Bakery. He spent 11 years at a civil service job at Clearfield, Utah working at Hill Air Force Base. One of his civilian jobs sent him and Ann to Korea for two years. They then returned to the states and worked in Winchester, Ky., for one year retiring back to Utah where they owned a home for 30 years. They later relocated to Greeley to be near family.

Bob and Ann were active in choir and church, Bob was a soloist and sang from an early age. They were members of the First United Methodist Church in Greeley. They both loved the mountains and camping. Bob enjoyed a nice sense of humor and was a natural joke teller.

He was preceded in death by one sister; two brothers and his parents, one grandson and one granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife Annabell of Lusk; one daughter Patricia (Milton) Himes of Lusk; one brother Bruce Middleton of Penryn, Calif.; five granddaughters, Misty Himes of Torrington and Holly Castano of Lander, Bobbi Stallman of Lusk, Cheri Thompson of Lusk and Rolinda Arnold of Ogden, Utah; two grandsons, Bruce Himes of Lusk and David Himes of Magma, Utah; sister-in-law Dorothy Middleton of San Lorenzo. Calif.; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
