Donal Albert Jones
Donal Albert Jones died suddenly Oct. 25, 1984, at his home in Wickenburg, Ariz. He was born Dec. 19, 1904 at Chadron, Nebr. and was raised in rural Niobrara County. He worked at the family ranch north of Lusk and on various ranches in Niobrara, Weston and Converse Counties.
He was one of the last of the Old Time Cowboys and spent much of his retirement years making miniature saddles.
He worked for Updike Brothers in Osage, Wyoming for 28 years preceding his retirement in the 1970's. He and his wife moved to Wickenburg in 1978. He was a Veteran of the United States Army World War II and a member of the American Legion Kellis Draper Post No. 12, Wickenburg.
Don is survived by his widow, Beatrice of Wickenburg, son Dick Jones of Lander, daughters Donna Moore of Ill., Nellie Recroft of Texas, brother Ted Jones of the home ranch north of Lusk, sisters Ada McDaniel, Lusk and Betty Sable of Lander, and sister-in-law Dorthea Jones of Newcastle, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Nellie Jones, a brother Edgar Jones and grandson Kerry Jones.
There will be no services.
