Norman E. "Babe" Call

Norman E. "Babe" Call, age 90, of Lusk passed away on April 8, in Torrington. A graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m. on April 12 at the Lusk Cemetery with Pastor Mark Lohr and Reverend Juanita Gilles officiating.

Norman was born on Jan. 14, 1915, in Douglas. He was the son of Shirley S. and Harriet Eastman Call. He attended grade school and high school in Douglas. He received a basketball scholarship to Carthage College, Mo.

Norman served three and one-half years in the Postal Department Medical Corporation in Australia. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years in Douglas, Lusk, and other places.

He enjoyed fishing, photography and reading. He was a member of the Masons, Elks and the Congregational Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Babe was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Bradford, Shirley and Justin Call.

Survivors include two sisters, Eleanor Johnson of Lafayette, Ind. and Harriet Thompson of Lusk; three nieces, Judy Simons of LaFayette, Ind., Waive Yager of Torrington and Jan Bruegger of Keeline; several great nieces and nephews and many friends.

A memorial service has been established to the Niobrara County Medical Foundation in Lusk.

The Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
