Geo. Barber Died Monday at Casper

George Barber, one-time resident of Lusk and one of the best known pioneers in central Wyoming, died Monday morning, October 31 at a Casper hospital. Mr. Barber had been under treatment for a fractured hip suffered when he was thrown from a horse at his ranch south of Glenrock on October 19th. A blood clot resulting from this injury reached his heart. He was 65 years of age.

After moving to Glenrock from here he established his ranch at the head of Deer Creek in that community where he had made his home up until about a year ago. His business activities included interests in the Big Muddy and Lance Creek oil fields.

Those who survive him are the widow, Mrs. Annie Barber and an adopted daughter at Glenrock; two brothers, John H. Barber of Glenrock and Francis O. Barber of Ogden, Utah; three sisters, Mrs. F.C. Spencer of Salem, Oregon; Mrs. Frank Clowes of Apollo, Pa., and Mrs. E.E. Gerard of Sumner, Wash.; two nephews, Charles Barber of Casper and Charles (??) Barber of Sheridan; and three nieces, Mrs. Chas. Beck of Midwest, Mrs. Cecil Thompson of Ogden, Utah and Mrs. Frank Chambers of Cheyenne.

The body was removed to Glenrock by Hofmann & Amspoker, Converse county morticians and the funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon with burial in the Glenrock cemetery.
