Pamela Sue Rising was born on October 15th, 1960 in Omaha, Nebraska, the fifth of seven children born to Eldon and Donna "Dolly" Holtz Rising. Pam passed away on October 25, 2016 in Lewiston, Idaho. She was born in an iron lung due to her mother's health issues. Due to Dolly's health, Pam was raised with her brother Kendy by her maternal uncle and his wife Durl and Carol Jordan Holtz. Carol and Durl brought her home from the hospital when she was only 4 days old. Pam and Kendy were blessed with a very large family by being a part of the two families. Pam loved spending time at the Jordan ranch where she could play outside for hours but also loved her life in Lusk where she would ride her bike and go to the local pool. She was an energetic and precocious child, traits that she displayed her entire life.
Pam graduated from Niobrara County High School in 1979. After graduation, she went to work for the Wyoming Highway Department. This job took her to Wamsutter and later she moved to Whittier, California where she worked road construction. Pam then moved to Oahu, Hawaii where she lived for a few years, continuing her career in road construction. While there, she enjoyed being a tour guide for her family or friends who came to visit her.
Pam returned to Lusk and met Ed Tiede while working for Seubert Construction. She moved to Idaho with Ed where she remained until her death. Pam got into the cattle business while living in Idaho and loved spending time with her cows. She had a deep love of animals and had even named all the cows that she owned.
Pam was loved by all who knew her and she never met a stranger. Whenever you visited with Pam, it was like you had just talked to her yesterday. It seemed as though you were continuing your last conversation right where you left off. She loved her family and let them know if they forgot to send her Christmas cards because she wanted to update their pictures on her refrigerator door.
Pam is survived by her life partner Ed Tiede of Lenore, Idaho; sisters Jody (Joe) Krajewski, Grant, NE; Cathy Publow, Scottsbluff, NE; Shelly (Doug) Heeden, Falcon Heights, MN and brother Randy Paul (Kristie) Rising and sister-in-law Brenda Rising of Torrington, WY and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by Lynn Rising lifelong friend. Pam will also be missed by her extended "Jordan Family" - Dale & Dorothy Jordan; Jack & Sherry Jordan Larson; Diana Jordan Martin; Jeff & Danese Jordan Reed; Dean & Kathleen Jordan and their families who loved her deeply.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents Eldon and Dolly Rising; her surrogate parents Durl and Carol Holtz; and her brothers Allan and Kendy Rising.
Pam's service will be December 21, 2016 at the Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. in Lusk, Wyoming.
