Her husband died in 1926 and she eventually moved to Nampa, Ada County, Idaho, where she died on April 8, 1945. Her remains were returned to Jireh to be interred alongside those of her husband.

Note: According to family member Stephen Siemsen, Louise appears on the passenger manifest for the SS Wieland along with her mother and brother "Fred". Her father was a member of the SS Wieland's crew. The family arrived in the US in 1881, so she could not have been born in Davenport, Iowa. Her brother Henry, Stephen's grandfather, was born in Davenport. Stephen has visited the Neuhöfel house in Dörpling where she was born, and has a copy of her German baptismal certificate. Steven's father was born in a sod house on the Siemsen homestead outside Van Tassell August 31, 1912.
