Ruth Brinkel

Ruth Brinkel, 55, former resident of the Prairie Center Community, died May 14 in the Billing, Mont., Deaconess Hospital of cancer.

Mrs. Brinkel, owner and operator of Today's Look beauty shop in Laurel, Mont., was a member of Laurel Golf Club and Ladies' Golf Association. She enjoyed reading, knitting and playing bridge.

She was born in Crawford, grew up in the Prairie Center Community and graduated from Torrington High School in 1944. She went to Billings, Mont., where she met and married Joe Brinkel in 1946. She was the daughter of Howard and Helena Britton.

Survivors include her husband; a son, David of Ennis, Mont., a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy Ann) Johnson of Great Falls; three brothers, Lester of Portland, Ore., Charles of Baker and Erle of Denver, a sister, Alice (Mrs. Frank) Podolak of Lusk and two grandsons.

Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. May 17 in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laurel. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. May 18 in the church. Burial was in the St. Anthony Cemetery with Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary in Laurel in charge.
