David Alan Poage

David Alan Poage, 61, of Arkansas City, Kan., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Celebration Services were held at the First Baptist Church at Lusk, Wyo. on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 2 p.m. Burial of his earthly tent will be in the Jireh Cemetery, Niobrara County, Wyoming following the services. Visitation hours was held at the Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. and other viewing hours were held in Lusk at the church from 11 a.m. until service time. Memorials have been established to either the King Institute or Gospel for Asia. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and on-line condolences may be left for the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com

David was born April 7, 1950, in Torrington, Wyo., to David True and Gertrude (Carroll) Poage. He was reared and educated in Keeline, Wyo., graduating from high school in Lusk, Wyo. in 1968. He later graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in chemical engineering.

David married Sharla (Bellomy) on Nov. 13, 1976, in Laramie, Wyo. The couple worked their cattle ranch in Wyoming, then the family moved to Rawlins, Wyo., where David worked for Sinclair Oil, before moving to Arkansas City to work for the Total Refinery in 1992. After the refinery closed David began work for General Electric Jet Engine Services at Strother Field as an engine mechanic. David was a faithful member of the Calvary Chapel.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Sharla; two daughters Rebecca and Rachael all of the home; his mother Gertrude Poage and step-father David Eddington of Torrington, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, and sister Judy Wright.
