2 Aged Residents of Niobrara Die During Past Week

Two aged citizens of Niobrara County died the past week, Mrs. Carrie B. Lumsden, resident in the county for about 25 years, and LeRoy D. Webb, who came to the Lance Creek area in 1917.

Death claimed Mrs. Carrie B. Lumsden, 76, at the Spencer Hospital on Monday, February 18. she had been in failing health for several months prior to her death.

Mrs. Lumsden made her home in Lusk with her daughter, Miss Bessie Lumsden, who is a teacher in the grade school here. She first came to Lusk some 25 years ago, and after residing here for a number of years returned to Iowa, but moved back to Wyoming seven years ago and has lived in Manville and Lusk continuously since that time.

In here youth she united with the Methodist Church and remained a steadfast member throughout her lifetime.

Carrie B. Kimball was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Kimball and was born at Quasqueton, Iowa, February 13, 1870.

She was married to George L. Lumsden, December 16, 1891, at Independence, Iowa. They were the parents of five children, two sons and three daughters.

Her husband and one son, Lyle K. Lumsden, preceded her in death. Survivors are her children, Jean J. Lumsden of Pine River, Minn; Mrs. Mona DeWayne, Yuba City, Calif.; Mrs. Lorene Postel, Lance Creek, Wyo.; two aged brothers, Thomas H. Kimball, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Charles Kimball, Sr., Quasqueton, Iowa; five granddaughters and two great grandsons.

Funeral services were held from the Peet chapel on Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Ezra Duncan, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiating. "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" and "Beyond the Sunset" were sung by Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Ezra Duncan, accompanied by Mrs. J. P. Watson.

The casket bearers were Ben F. Brown, Beryle Fullerton, O. M. Rasmusen, Claris David, Rulo Roberts and C. E. Marvin.

Interment was made in the Lusk Cemetery.
