Johnny Mill

Death claimed Johnny Mill, early day resident of Lusk, at Douglas, on Friday, December 28, 1945.

Johnny Mill was a brother of the late Jacob Mill, prominent rancher of Hat Creek, and lived in Lusk for many years prior to 1900, when he moved to Douglas to follow the sheep industry, which occupation he was engaged in while living here.

Mr. Mill was 94 years of age and had been in ill health for several years. He was born in Germany, December 20, 1851, and came to the United States when he was 20 years of age. In 1874 he moved to Cheyenne, where he was employed in the barbering business for about four years, and then went to Leadville, Colo., during the Colorado gold rush days.

Among the survivors are two nieces, Mrs. Bertha Boyd of Lusk and Miss Gladys Mill of Sterling, Colo., and five nephews, George Mill of Hat Creek, Wyo.; William J. Mill of Yoder, Wyo.; Dave Mill of Deadwood, So. Dak.; August and Louis Cook, Douglas, Wyo.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the Hoffman chapel in Douglas, with Rev. Rostron of the Methodist church officiating.

Those from Lusk attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Boyd, Mrs. Dave Mill, John Agnew and Henry Petz.
