Dorothy Gunn Dupes
Dorothy Gunn Dupes who grew up in the Hat Creek area passed away at the Bear Mountain Hospice in Morrison, Colo., on Oct. 29, 2009.
She was born in Harrison, Neb., on June 30, 1921, and married James Dupes in 1944. Jim preceded her in death in April of 2008. A brother, Hugh Gunn, of Sheridan, Wyo., and numerous nieces and nephews survive her.
Dorothy taught school at Lance Creek during World War II, after graduating from Lusk High School in 1939. She then taught four years at Frannie, Wyoming, and after they were transferred to Billings, Montana, she received a degree in nursing and taught for several years at Montana State University School of Nursing.
After retiring, she and Jim lived in Tucson, Ariz. and Douglas and Casper, Wyo. After Jim's death, she moved to Atria Inn assisted living facility in Lakewood, Colo.
Services will be held at a later date.

Dorothy Gunn Dupes
Dorothy Gunn Dupes, age 88, of Lakewood, Colorado passed away of natural cuases October 29, 2009 at the Bear Creek Nursing Home in Morrison, Colorado.
Interment will be held in the spring of 2010 in the Jireh Cemetery near Keeline, Wyoming.
Dorothy was born in Harrison, Nebraska June 30, 1921 to George H. Gunn and Sidna B. Gunn. She grew up attending grade school in Hat Creek and graduated high school in Lusk, Wyoming May 18, 1939. After graduation she attended the University of Wyoming, followed by teaching school at Ohio School near Lance Creek during WWII. She married James W. Dupes of Keeline July 8, 1944.
Dorothy and Jim moved to Frannie, Wyoming in May of 1945. Dorothy taught in the local grade school until they moved to Billings, Montana in October 1954. She entered Montana State University School of Nursing in 1957 earning her degree in Nursing Home administration. Dorothy was baptized into the First Presbyterian Church in March of 1960. Upon retirement she and Jim enjoyed traveling and lived in Tucson, Arizona, and Keeline, Douglas and Casper, Wyoming. Dorothy moved to Lakewood, Colorado in August of 2008, living independently at The Atria Inn in Lakewood.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Dupes; two older sisters, Florence G. Brenner and Mary G. Kennelly and a younger brother Frank F. Gunn.
Dorothy is survived by a younger brother, Hugh G. Gunn; five loving nieces and nephews and eleven grand nephews and nieces.
