Maxine M. Booth

Funeral services for Maxine M. Booth, 83, were held Jan. 27, 2004, at the Gorman Funeral Home-Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyo., with Pastor Tim Ricker of the Frontier Baptist Church officiating.

Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Booth died Jan. 23, 2004, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyo.

She was born Aug. 4, 1920, in Gregory, S.D., the daughter of Tom and Eenie (Humphrey) DeWitt.

She moved to Douglas as a young girl and married her husband, George William Booth of 54 years in September 1940.

After 25 years of raising children, she worked at several different jobs.

She enjoyed doing ceramics, her aquarium, pets and her grandchildren.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by seven children, Bill of Casper, Dan of Douglas, Earl of Winnemucca, Nev., Leona Corn of Moab, Utah, Linda Scholting of Rio Vista, Calif., Loretta Taylor of Douglas, and Lona Cross of Douglas; a sister, Ruth Widick of Douglas; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George on Oct. 7, 1994; one son Tom; and a sister Elsie Rohrer.

A memorial to the Douglas Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 192, Douglas, Wy. 82633 would be appreciated by the family.

Gorman Funeral Home-Converse Chapel of Douglas was in charge of arrangements.
