Roy Hardin Killed On High Voltage Line In Springfield, Ill.

Roy Hardin, 35, son-in-law of Chuck Vaughn of Lusk, was killed at Springfield, Ill., last Thursday night when he came in contact with a high voltage line while making repairs during a storm.

Mr. Hardin was known by a number of people in this area, as he worked at one time for the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Co. in this area. More recently he was employed by the power company at Sheridan, and only last September moved to Springfield to work for the power company there.

He was called out during a bad storm to repair lines and came in contact with a high voltage line while up on a pole.

Surviving are his wife and two children, a son, 5, and a daughter, 2. Mr. Vaughn flew from Cheyenne early Sunday to attend funeral services in Springfield that afternoon. He delayed leaving until Sunday because Joe Currey had been in the Spencer Hospital with the flu and Mr. Vaughn did not want to close the barber shop.
