Darcie Zimmer

A funeral mass was said at 2 p.m. Aug. 23 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church for Darcie Marie Zimmer, who died from injuries received in a bicycle-vehicle crash on North Eighth West in Riverton Sunday, Aug. 21.

She was the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bud Hoblit of Lusk.

A rosary was said at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Margaret's by Fathers Kevin Maler and Ron Stolcis. Cremation rites followed the service.

Darcie Marie Zimmer was born Oct. 16, 1967 in Scottsbluff, Nebr. to Peggy Ann (Hoblit) and Vincent Zimmer.

She attended schools in Scottsbluff, Greeley, Colo., Las Vegas, Nev., Salt Lake City, Utah, Missoula, Mont. and Billings, Mont. before the family moved to Riverton two years ago.

Miss Zimmer would have been a sophomore at Riverton High School this fall.

Active in school and church activities, Miss Zimmer participated in volleyball, girl's basketball, track, summer softball and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, CCD classes and Catholic Youth Organization.

Her hobbies included training and riding horses, sewing, writing poems and reading.

Survivors include her parents and sisters, Cescilee Rene and Tiffanie Lynn of the family home in Riverton and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Hoblit.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Zimmer.

The family requests memorials in Miss Zimmer's name be given to a fund for a bicycle path on North Eighth West in care of Bill Strannigan at Riverton High School or to a charity of the donor's choice.
