George Sherman Wright

Memorial services for George Sherman Wright were held Monday, Dec. 18, at the BPOE Lodge in Greybull. Mr. Wright, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Washakie Medical Center in Worland.

He was born Dec. 26, 1920 at Lost Springs, Wyo. the son of Lee and Florence Wright.

He quit school after finishing the eighth grade and worked to support the family farm following the death of his father. He worked various jobs until he married Jean Williams in Billings, 55 years ago.

The Wrights settled in Greybull and he worked in the trucking industry.

Mr. Wright was a member of the Greybull Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years and during that time served as the secretary and as fire chief. He was a member of Midway Golf Club.

He is survived by his wife, Jean of Greybull; two sons, Ron and Wayne both of Greybull; two sisters, Jeanette Peebles and Ileen Frye and one brother, Wilbur; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Burial of cremains was at Hillside Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established at First Interstate Bank in Greybull. Proceeds will go to the Greybull Fire Department.
