Mrs. Whitmore Dies While on California Visit

Mrs. Grace Whilmore, 75, resident of Niobrara County since 1914, died in Victorville, Calif. Sunday following a stroke.

Mrs. Whitmore and her brothers, Albert and Lee Penn and Mrs. Lee Penn, were visiting Mrs. Zelma Powell of Victorville at the time of her death.

Funeral services will be held in Casper Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Horstman Mortuary with burial in Casper.

After their marriage in Wymore, Nebr. Mr. and Mrs. Whitmore homesteaded in the Hat Creek area. Mr. Whitmore died in 1945, and she moved to Lusk in 1946. Her only son died last May.

She is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Grace Whitmore Service Held In Casper Fri.

Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Whitmore, 75, resident of Niobrara County since 1910, were held from the Horstman Memorial Chapel in Casper Friday with Dr. Chas. S. Bream officiating and the Rev. Paul Funk assisting.

Mrs. Whitmore died January 3 in St. Mary's Hospital in Apple Valley, Calif. She was visiting relatives at the time.

The Casper Rebekah Lodge No. 13, of which Mrs. Whitmore was a member, also conducted services. Burial was in the IOOF plot at the Highland Cemetery in Casper.

Grace E. Penn was born March 21, 1889 in Dawson, Nebr. She was married to Chas. O. Whitmore December 5, 1910 in Beatrice, Nebr. They homesteaded near Hat Creek in 1910.

Survivors include three brothers, Albert and Lee Penn of Lusk and Charles Penn of near Casper; two sisters, Mrs. Iva McGinnis, Casper, and Mrs. A. R. Miller, Lance Creek; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Richard L. Whitmore of Lusk; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, one son and a sister died previously.
