Laura Unitt dies in California

Mrs. Laura Unitt, a long-time resident of Harrison, died February 20 at the Cloisters Convalescent Home in San Diego, Calif. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Anderson, pioneer settlers and ranchers in Sioux County. Mrs. Unitt was employed for many years at the First National Bank and The Sioux National Bank in Harrison.

Laura Anderson was born in Harrison January 13, 1897. She married Phil Unitt on June 6, 1920. They made their home in Harrison until 1942 when they moved to San Diego, Calif. The couple had one son, Phil Jr.

Mrs. Unitt is survived by her daughter-in-law; two grandsons, Phil III and Kenneth Unitt, all of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters Mrs. Jess Gerlack, San Diego, Calif. and Mrs. Vern Marsteller, Harrison; one sister-in-law, Mrs. E. J. Wasserburger, Edgemont, S.D. and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, husband, son and two sisters. She was buried at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
