Mrs. Cooley Taylor dies
Gladys (Mrs. Cooley) Taylor died here last Thursday at the Niobrara hospital. Funeral service was held Monday afternoon at Peet Mortuary Chapel.
The Taylors have lived in Lusk since 1972 when they purchased a home here.
Gladys May was born Jan. 1, 1911, the daughter of Charles and Nora Wallace, at Loveland, Colo. She grew to womanhood in Cheyenne, and on May 28, 1933, she and Cooley Taylor were married at Hardin, Mont. They lived in Sundance for six years, Newcastle one year and then to Gillette where they made their home until the spring of 1942 when they moved to Sheridan. From Sheridan they moved to Lusk.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church into which she was baptized at Gillette.
The Rev. A. C. McClure of Casper presided over the funeral service. Mrs. Edna DeCastro was organist and Mark Lohr sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "The Old Rugged Cross."
Casket bearers were John Redington, John Willouby, Gary VanBuren, August Talcott, Al Davenport, and Roger Bonsell. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the cancer fund.
Survivors include the widower Cooley; her mother of Santa Ana, Calif.; two sisters, two brothers, a daughter in West Virginia, three grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
