Ruby E. Paschal
Ruby E. Paschal, 91, who ranched near Lance Creek for 44 years died December 1 in Memorial Hospital in Quanah, Texas.
Mrs. Paschal was born October 12, 1889, at Jerusalem, Conway County, Arkansas, the daughter of William Wilson and Mary Jane Jones Rankin. She moved to Texas with her parents in 1897 and in 1916 came to Niobrara County and filed on a section of land in the Lance Creek area. On April 4, 1931, she married Frank Paschal at Lusk and the couple ranched near Lance Creek.
Mrs. Paschal attended West Texas State University, Canyon, Texas and the University of Wyoming. She taught in the rural school in Wyoming for four years. She belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Salem, Oregon Geneological Society and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Funeral service was December 3 at Peet Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Kelley officiating.
Minerva Watson was organist with Joy Kaltenheuser singing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "We Are Going Down the Valley." Active casket bearers were Joe Leimser, Dean Leimser, Luther Penfield, Dale Gunn, Harry Krejci, and Charles Krejci. Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Mrs. Paschal was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Frank. Survivors include a brother Dr. F. G. Rankin, Salem, Ore., two sisters, Ruth Rankin, Astoria, Oregon, Mrs. Dewey Womack of Quanah and several nieces and nephews.
