Funeral Service For Commander Miller Held
Funeral service for Charles Miller, 44, was held in Newport, R. I. June 18. Commander Miller, who retired from the Navy in 1973, died June 14.
Charles Miller was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Edgemont, S.D., to James Louis and Mary E. Miller. He was reared in Lusk and attended Lusk High School quitting in his senior year to join the Navy in 1946. He made the Navy his career retiring in 1973 as a commander.
Survivors include his mother Mary of Lusk; two sons, Charles Jr. and Kurt, and one daughter, Melinda of the family home; four sisters, Mrs. George (Dorothy) Walker, Newcastle, Mrs. Fern Bailey, Denver, Mrs. John (Mary) Spencer, Lyman, and Mrs. James (Betty) Herrington, Rock Springs; three brothers, William H., Ventura, Calif., AZC Harry Miller stationed in the Navy at Norfolk, V. and Paul of Lusk.
His father and a half-sister Eleanor Green of Cody died previously.
