Funeral services for Kevin R. Lay, 39, of Torrington, were held Saturday, Nov. 9, 1991, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Torrington with Rev. J. E. Moroney officiating. The body was conveyed by horse-drawn wagon to Valley View Cemetery for burial.

There was a rosary at the Colyer Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8. The family would appreciate memorial gifts to the Renal Dialysis Unit at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb. Lay died there Nov. 5.

He was born Nov. 5, 1952, at Torrington, the son of Randall and Helen (Hirz) Lay. He graduated from Torrington High School in 1971, attended Eastern Wyoming College and later the University of Wyoming at Laramie. He was involved in the family ranch operation north of Torrington most of his life.

He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Future Farmers of America Alumni, the American Hereford Association and the American Quarterhorse Association.

He is survived by his mother, Helen Lay, of Torrington; two daughters, Jill Lay and Jacie Lay and son Jerad Lay, of Tomahawk, Wis.; brother, Gene Lay, of Torrington; three sisters, Lana Svoboda of Lincoln, Neb., Lori Niemeyer of Wonder Lake, Ill., and Beth Ann Dieriex of Cheyenne, Wyo.; grandfather, Harry Hirz of Moses Lake, Wash.; three nieces Brandie Halls, Bambi Robb and Burgundy Lay and three nephews, Randall Lay, Michael Dieriex and Matthew Svoboda. He was preceded in death by his father and an infant sister.
