Ruby Beatrice Baker Lee
Services for Ruby Beatrice (Baker) Lee, 93, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Bader-Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk with Rev. Del Cowley officiating.
Mrs. Lee died Wednesday morning, Feb. 17, 1993, at her home in Lusk. She was born July 18, 1899, in Corning, Iowa, the daughter of Curtis and Mary (Pender) Baker. The family lived in Kirksville, Mo., until the death of her mother, when they moved to Iowa where Ruby grew up. In 1918 she, along with her father and brother, moved to a farm north of Keeline, Wyo.
She married Legrand "Dick" Lee on Sept. 15, 1920, and they homesteaded north of Powder River, Wyo., until 1925 when they moved to her father's place north of Keeline. They resided there until 1960 when they moved to Lusk.
She was a past member of the Keeline Extension Club and a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an active member of the Fancy Farmers Garden Club, having held several offices over the years. She was also a State Life member of the Federated Garden Club. She loved her flowers and garden and enjoyed working with them. She had many hobbies and really enjoyed painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Dale Baker, and two daughters, Donnabell and Edna.
Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Martin of Cody; one son, Steve Lee, of Sheridan; five grandchildren, Ivol E. Martin of Scappoose, Ore.; Fairy Mooney of Powell; Clay and Ty Lee of Eureka, Calif., and Odette Amend of Shawnee Mission, Kan.; eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
For those who wish, memorials the Niobrara Senior Center in Lusk will be appreciated by the family.
Bader-Peet Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
