Antone "Tony" Hytrek

Antone "Tony" Edmund Hytrek died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1985, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Hot Springs, S.D., of a heart attack. He was 72.

Mr. Hytrek was born June 11, 1913, in Stuart, Neb., the son of Paul and Victoria Hytrek. He married Mary Lucille Outhouse Feb. 6, 1936, in Douglas. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and received an honorable discharge in 1946.

Before his retirement, he worked as a mechanic, a custodian for Niobrara County High School and was self employed. He was a member of the Lusk Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was a member of the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Lusk; a daughter, Patricia Smith of Laramie; seven brothers, Julius, George, Alex, Henry, James, Peter, Leo and Raymond; six sisters, Stella Hughes, Sophia Hand, Cecilia Hallack, Nancy Howshar, Verna Hytrek and Clara Henry; five grandchildren, Robert Smith; Randi Johnson, Rhonda and Roxi Knopp and Cindy Mowry; five great-grandchildren, Mike, Scott and Megan Smith and Lisa and Lindsey Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Lusk Volunteer Fire Department.

Memorial services were held Friday, Nov. 15, at Peet Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Frank Bozart officiated. Burial was in Lusk Cemetery.
