Albert A. Fisher

Services for Albert A. Fisher, 85, were held June 24, 1997, at the Fort Laramie Community Church with the Rev. Judith Cuthbertson officiating. Burial was in the Fort Laramie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Fort Laramie Presbyterian Church.

He died at a Cheyenne hospital June 21, 1997.

He was born July 4, 1911, at Crookston, Neb., to Anton J. and Louisa (Armbrust) Fisher. In 1913, he moved with his family to a ranch south of Van Tassell, where he received his education.

He married Maxine Ellicott of Harrison, Neb., June 17, 1936, and they shortly thereafter bought the 4P ranch west of Ft. Laramie, where he lived and worked until the time of his death.

He was a member of the Fort Laramie Community Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an elder.

For many years, he served as a 4-H leader, at the state grange office, as co-president of Lingle Water User's Board and Conservation District Board organizer and officer.

Additionally, he served as treasurer of the Goshen County Historical Society, was a member of the Goshen County School Board, and a member of the Wyoming Stock Grower's Association. He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge and a past worthy patron of the Order of Eastern Star, both at Lingle.

Survivors include his wife of Fort Laramie; son Gary Fisher of Washington, D.C.; daughter and son-in-law Luana and Tom Lahti of Cheyenne; brother William Fisher of Hot Springs, S. D.; sister Margaret Morton of Fremont, Neb.; and grandchildren Parker and Aliina Lahti of Cheyenne.

Colyer Funeral Home of Torrington was in charge of arrangements.
