Vicki J. Griggs

Vicki J. Griggs, 50, of Englewood, Colorado, died Monday, June 28, 1999 at her home after a long illness. Services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) in Littleton, Colorado. Interment was at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Littleton.

Vicki was born in Lusk, Wyoming to Elgie I. and LaVonne R. (Serres) Pilgrim. She attended one semester in Lance Creek when her father was transferred to Brush, Colorado. Vicki completed school and graduated there. She continued her schooling going to business college in Boulder, Colorado.

Vicki married Victor R. Griggs September 25, 1971 in a service officiated by Collin Smith in Arvada, Colorado.

Vicki was a partner with her husband at Pilgrim Management Company, a business they operated together for many years.

Vicki was an avid collector. She and Victor especially enjoyed collecting dolls together. They were friends with Annalee Thorndike, a doll maker in New Hampshire, from whom they purchased many dolls.

Vicki was also the neighborhood holiday decorator; no holiday could escape without her special touch. Driving past her home at Christmas was like entering Santa's workshop.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elgie I. Pilgrim and her brother, Charles E. Pilgrim and her grandparents.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Victor R. Griggs, of Englewood, Colorado; his children and grandchildren; her mother LaVonne Pilgrim of Gillette; two sisters-in-law Dorothy Pilgrim of Newport, Oregon and Glenda C. Leavitt of Salt Lake City, Utah, and numerous friends and their children. She will be missed by all.
