John Giinther Dies in Alaska; Burial in Lusk
John E. Giinther, 63, of Fairbanks, Alaska and former Lusk resident, died last Wednesday in Fairbanks of a heart condition.
Burial and graveside services were held in Lusk Monday at 3:00 p.m. The Rev. Frank Bozart of the Open Bible Church officiated at the services and the Peet Mortuary was in charge of burial.
Pallbearers were Harry Lorezen, Roy Johnson, Jack Cashman, Harry Fernau, Sr., W. D. Miller and A. F. DeCastro.
John Ernest Giinther was born at Lusk June 2, 1901, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Giinther. He received his education in the Lusk Schools and was employed for several years by the Lusk Motor Company. In the early 1920's he and Miss Helen Hubbard were married in Lusk, and in 1928 they moved to Alaska. He operated a Dealer's Supply Store in Fairbanks until his death. Mrs. Giinther died in 1937.
He is survived by one son, Robert, of Fairbanks and two brothers, George of Casper and Charles of Tucson, Ariz.
