Last Rites for Gertrude Geiser

Funeral services were held at the Church of the Nativity, June 3 for Gertrude Geiser who died June 1 at the home of her sister, Mrs. Harry Wasserburger. Father John Dennett officiated at the services and at the interment at Montrose. Pallbearers were her nephews, Robert and Jack Geiser, James and George Staudenmeier, and her grand nephews, Charles Oldaker and Andy Federle.

Gertrude Geiser was born at the family ranch home in North Sioux County April 6, 1899, the daughter of Robert and Theresa Meier Geiser. She attended the local schools and Chadron State College.

She lived and worked in the Ardmore community until the marriage of her sister Mary, after which she made her home with her until 1938. She then moved to Crawford with her widowed father until his death in 1946. She and her sister, Theresa continued living in Crawford until 1952 when they moved to Harrison where they owned and operated the Snak Shak until 1960.

She made her home with her sister, Mrs. Harry Wasserburger, and family, until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and leaves one brother, John Geiser of Crawford; three sisters, , Mrs. Josephine Staudenmeir and Mrs. Harry Wasserburger of Harrison and Mrs. C. G. Forsling of Lewellen; twelve nieces and nephews, nineteen great nieces and nephews, and one great, great nephew, Allen Oldaker of Harrison.
