Chris has a rich history of being on the air working in major markets such as Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Cincinnati and now Dallas.
Chris, nephew of Polly and Bob Johnson, grew up in Wyoming and got his first job in broadcasting when he was sixteen, just a high school sophomore. He was promoted to full time, doing the overnight show, when he was a senior. Schneider moved up the ladder to become Assistant Program Director and Sports Director before moving on to bigger opportunities.
Schneider is currently the Sports Director and a Morning Drive Anchor at 1080 KRLD in Dallas, and is heard on over 100 radio stations on the Texas State Networks.
“STARTING YOUR CAREER IN BROADCASTING” is “the best ‘how to’ broadcasting book ever written.”
Jim Lampley, HBO & NBC – “…Whether you are a beginner looking for that first job, or a twenty-year veteran working hard to improve, there is useful knowledge and perspective here for you. Every conceivable path to success is explored”
Gavin Spittle, VP of Programming for CBS Radio – “This is not only a terrific “how to” book about how to get into the communications business, Chris gives us fascinating stories from industry leaders on how they got started. Chris does a great job explaining the various aspects of radio and tv without talking over your head. I wish I had this book when I was coming through the ranks. Actually, it reminded me how great this business is that we’re in.”
Dr. Phillip Jenkins, Chair of Communications, Dallas Baptist University – “Finally, a book that offers a realistic glance at the Broadcast Business from the inside out. As a educator, many times we have to confess to our students that it is not just what you know but who you know…this is stuff they don’t teach you in Harvard Business School. This is a fascinating journey and a “must read” for anyone thinking of going into a career of broadcasting.”
