Around the World: European Rivers with Leslie Stewart

  Last summer, Leslie Stewart took two trips to Europe that she will share on Wednesday, February 19 at 6 p.m. Both trips focused on rivers. The first was to northern Portugal starting in Porto and then kayaking on the Duoro River. The second was to five countries in eastern Europe – Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary – traveling up the Danube from Bucharest and almost to Budapest on a large river boat. The trip then ended with a few days in Prague in the Czech Republic.  Come to the slide show to learn about the wine-making part of Portugal, kayaking 7 to 11 miles a day, the history of the former Yugoslavia, more recent upheavals, and the beautiful cities of Porto, Bucharest, Belgrade, and Prague.
