Clothing Stores: Olinger's
The Lusk Herald, February 28, 1946
Olingers Open Apparel Store Coming Saturday
Olinger's, men's and women's apparel store, will open for business Saturday in the Ranger Hotel building, next to the Western Union office, according to an announcement in this week's Herald. Proprietors are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph L. Olinger.
Absent from Lusk for a number of years, part of which time they operated a store in Newcastle, they are now glad to return to Lusk.
Mr. Olinger say he has no illusions as to the merchandise available in the opening of the store, but states, "We have good contacts, and as soon as merchandise is available our store will be completely stocked."
As it is, in their opening advertisement, announces a complete line of women's ready-to-wear, Gage milliner, quotas of hosiery, and many accessories.
Men's wear in stock includes extra pants and sport jackets, underwear, broadcloth shorts, ties, belts, suspenders and garters and work clothing.
In spite of the shortage of lumber, the attractive fixtures for the store have been built by Oscar Bostrum and stained in natural finish to give a knotty pine effect to blend with the modernistic finish of the former Ranger Coffee Shop room.

In the western tradition, Leo Wasserburger is clad in a swanky outfit which lacks only the shooting irons which Mr. Ralph Olinger is about to offer. Incidentally, that weapon is a Colt "cap & ball equalizer" with an interesting history.
Now, Henry Wasserburger settled for a sports jacket, and makes a right handsome model for men's clothes, doesn't he?
Incidentally, OLINGER'S also feature ready-to-wear clothes for the girls, too. But try as we would, not a single Lusk High co-ed could be found at nine o'clock on the Saturday morning after the Valentine's Day dance to model a dress!
