Blackmore Brothers and Andy Owens Open Sinclair Stations

Clyde and Guy Blackmore, returned service men, are preparing to open the Sinclair Service Station at the highway junction at the south, and conduct the Sinclair bulk station business, and in conjunction with their move, Andy Owens has purchaed the Sinclair property on East Third Street and will operate it as a filling station and cabin camp.

Sinclair has not been active since the closing of the stations before the war. The south station is now undergoing repair, being reshingled and redecorated inside. Clyde Blackmore said he expected to be open about April 1.

Clyde will operate the  south station with his brother handling the bulk business. Headquarters for the bulk station. With one of the finest grease rooms among Lusk stations, Mr. Blackmore says he expects to be able to render complete lubrication service. He has had a number of years' experience in filling station and automotive repair business. The brothers are leasing the Sinclair property.

Guy left Lusk with the National Guard, and was among the group assigned to Pacific service instead of going to Iran. Much of his service was in the Aleutians.

Clyde served 32 months, going through the European campaign. Both young men have only recently been discharged.

The Sinclair property purchased by Mr. Owens has not been used for some years. Besides the filling station, it includes one cottage and a garage building, and is on two lots. Mr. Owens plans to erect additional cabins and make trailer camp accommodations just as soon as material are available.

Strategically located at the junction of U. S. Highways 20 and 85, the SINCLAIR SERVICE STATION, operated by the Blackmore brothers, is a busy place.

Operating a bulk plant business in addition to the usual service station business, this place of business is unusually well equipped to serve not only the needs of passing motorists for a "fill," but also the diversified needs of Niobrara County's ranchers for lubricants and fuels.

Robert Moss, who lives nearby, ambled over to watch the photographing, and, of course got into the picture.
