Otto Klemke Buys O.I. Stenger Insurance Agency
Announcement is made in this week's Lusk Herald that Otto H. Klemke Insurance Agency has purchased the insurance business of O.I. Stenger, which is the oldest insurance business in the county.
Orian I. Stenger came to Wyoming 34 years ago and was one of the original settlers in Van Tassell when that town was founded.
Some twenty years, ago he moved his family yo Lusk, where he has been engaged in the insurance and real estate business up to the present time.
A few weeks ago, Mr. Stenger sold his residence property to Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Marvin and it is understood that he intends to move to Minnesota to make his home.
Mr. Klemke came to Lusk as a young man in 1914 and his first positions were as a clerk in the Mayes Mercantile Co., and then the H.C. Snyder & Co., and later in the Reuter store.
His next position was with the American State Bank in Scottsbluff, which position her filled for eight years. Coming back to Lusk in 1929 he became assistant cashier in the Lusk State Bank, which position he held until 1936, when he opened up the Lusk Stock Exchange and began his insurance career. In 1940, he purchased the N.E. Hartwell Insurance business and now has added the O.I. Stenger insurance to his other business.
