Orrie and Catherine Thompson opened Hat Creek Hatters and Mercantile on Nov. 28. Tue7 lived north of Lusk for 3 years prior to opening the business.

The company specializes in custom made hats. Thompson called then the workingman's hat. Featuring 5X to 20X along with 50/50 and 100 percent beaver hats. The store carries handmade and custom ordered tack and some supplies. They carry a large supply of ropes.

Catherine will be featuring both Montana and Southwest Silver along with Black Hills gold jewelry this spring.

Thompson said they have been well accepted by people. He said they believe in giving back to the community and tend to do a lot of sponsoring.
