Denise Joann Armstrong
One of the most trying experiences (of the blizzard) came to Mrs. Dave Armstrong of Lance Creek. Armstrongs were expecting an addition to the family and started for a hospital in Lusk Friday as Mrs. Armstrong was in labor. He managed to get his wife as far as Manville before being completely stopped. In Manville they were given refuge in the living quarters of the Allsup Cafe. For a time all efforts of the Highway Department to reach Manville were in vain. Finally the crew with Dr. O. E. Torkelson broke through and Mrs. Armstrong was recieved at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital about noon Saturday. She gave birth to a daughter about midnight Saturday. The girl was named Denise Joan.
