Daniel Levi Striker, age 9 days, is the first baby born in the New Year to a couple from Lusk.
Master Striker was born to Rick and Nicki Striker, their first child, on Monday, Jan. 2 at 11:23 p.m. at Newcastle Memorial Hospital. He weighed 6 lbs. and 14 ounces, was 18 and one-half inches long and was delivered by Dr. Larry Reimer and Dr. Chuck Franklin.
Daniel's grandparents on Rick's side of the family are Eldon and Shelly Frye of Lusk. Both of Nicki's parents are deceased. But the birth of Daniel marked the 19th great-grandchild for Nicki's grandmother, Mina Downing of Newcastle.
