“Twenty Days on Route 20” will be presented at the library on Wednesday, August 15 at noon. Bring your lunch to this Brown Bag Lunch program and enjoy an entertaining talk by Michael Czarnecki as he discusses his travels on Route 20 from Boston to the Pacific. Michael will also discuss self-publishing and the Japanese literary form, haibun. Plan now to attend! This program is free and open to the public.
Registration is now being accepted for the fall book discussion program, “Classic Views of American Life.” This four book series will feature Pulitzer Prize winning fiction with the first book “The Way West” being discussed on Wednesday, September 5 at 7 p.m. at the library. Wayne Deahl, Division Chair of the Arts, Humanities, Social & Behavioral Sciences at Eastern Wyoming College, will lead the discussions. A new fiction book for adults is “North River” by Peter Hamill. It is 1934 and Dr. James Delaney deals with the icy grip of the Great Depression the only way he can ? by tending to his hurt, sick, and poor neighbors whether they can pay him or not. Other new titles are “Lonesome Range” by Wyoming author, John D. Nesbitt, “The Devil Who Tamed Her” by Johanna Lindsey, “Love Kills” by Edna Buchanan, “Woman in Red” by Eileen Goudge and “The Maytrees” by Annie Dillard.
New non-fiction includes “The Allergy-Free Cookbook” by Alice Sherwood, “15 Stars: Eisenhower, MacArthur, Marshall: Three Men Who Saved the American Century” by Stanley Weintraub, “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life” by Barbara Kingsolver and “Armed and Dangerous: The Hunt for America’s Most Wanted Criminals” by William Queen.
New titles for young adults include “The Riddle of Epsilon” by Christine Morton-Shaw and “Ark Angel” by Alex Horowitz.

“Canoes” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 and Thursday, August 16, 2007. Storyhour is now held every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 11 p.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
