The library will be closed Sunday, December 23, 2007 through Tuesday, December 25, 2007 for the Christmas Holiday. Regular hours resume on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Noon. Merry Christmas!
Children and adults can enjoy movies at the library on Thursday, December 27 and Friday, December 28 at 1 p.m. On Thursday, “Underdog” will be shown, this film is 84 minutes and rated PG. “Mr. Bean’s Holiday” will be showing on Friday at 1 p.m. This film is also PG and is 90 minutes. The library will provide popcorn, please bring your own beverage.
“Unwrapping Christmas” by Lori Copeland is on the new book shelf. With excitement and high expectations, Rose has planned the perfect Christmas for her family and friends, but then she is forced to slow down in the most unexpected way. Other new fiction titles include “Mark’s Story” by Tim LaHaye, “Kissing Christmas Goodbye” by M. C. Beaton, “Pandora’s Daughter” by Iris Johansen, “Where Angels Go” Debbie Macomber and “Now and Then” by Robert Parker.
New non-fiction books are “Become a Better You: 7 Keys to Improving Your Every Day” by Joel Osteen, “Dave Barry’s History of the Millennium (So Far)” by Dave Barry and “Blue Skies, No Fences: a Memoir of Childhood and Family” by Lynne Cheney.
A new title for the young adults is “Safe” by Susan Shaw.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior titles “Julie” and “Julie Tells Her Story” by Megan McDonald, “The Tale of Aang” by Michael Teitelbaum and “Good Luck, Ivy” by Lisa Lee.
New easy titles are “A Friend for All Seasons” by Julia Hubery and “Snow Bear” by Piers Harper.
“Happy New Year!” is the theme for Storyhour on Thursday, December 27, 2007. Storyhour is held every Tuesday and Thursday (except Holidays) from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
