The library will be closed on Sunday, February 17, 2008 and Monday, February 18, 2008 for President’s Day observation. Regular hours resume on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
A new fiction book for adults is “The Senator’s Wife” by Sue Miller. Two unconventional women–Meri Fowler, pregnant, newly married, and discovering the gap between reality and expectation and Delia Naughton, wife of a notorious unfaithful liberal senator–confront the costs and challenges of love.
Other new fiction books include “Last Run” by Hilary Norman, “Bleeding Kansas” by Sara Paretsky, “Heart of Fire” by Kat Martin, “People of the Book” by Geraldine Brooks and “Gathering Roses” by Ellen Weisberg.
New adult non-fiction books are “Hunger Free Forever: the New Science of Appetite Control” by Michael T. Murray, “Before You Plan Your Wedding….Plan Your Marriage” by Dr. Greg Smalley and “Simon Says: a True Story of Boys, Guns, and Murder” by Kathryn Eastburn.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has this new chapter book “Spaniel in a Stocking” by Ben M. Baglio and these new picture books: “Bear Feels Sick” by Karma Wilson, “Little Eagle” by Chen Jiang Hong, “A Perfect Snowman” by Preston McDaniels, “When Randolph Turned Rotten” by Charise Mericle Harper and “The Three Snow Bears” by Jan Brett.
“Presidents” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, February 19 and Thursday, February 21. Storyhour is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
