After checking and checking again we discovered an error in our recent newsletter. The library board members are: Pat Bruch, Chairman; Carol Kilmer, Vice Chairman; Liz Kaltenheuser, Secretary; Linda Decker, Treasurer; Ted Holman, Board Member. Ted also serves on the NCL Foundation board. Monika Davies has also joined the Friends of the Library board.
The winter sessions of the Afterschool Programs start on Tuesday, January 13. If you haven’t called to register your child please do so or drop by. Yvonne has lots of fun books and activities planned.

A new fiction book is “Rough Weather” by Robert B. Parker. Spenser is recruited as a stand-in-husband and protector at a wedding on a private island; but, a storm, a kidnapping, and murder ruins what should have been a joyous occasion. Spenser’s nemesis Rugar appears to be at the center.
Other new fiction books include “Salvation in Death” by J. D. Robb, “Snake Dreams” by James D. Doss, “Arctic Drift” by Clive Cussler, “Cross Country” by James Patterson and “Your Heart Belongs to Me” by Dean Koontz.
New adult non-fiction books are “The Optimist’s Handbook: a Companion to Hope” by Niall Edworthy, “Outliners: the Story of Success” by Malcolm Gladwell and “God in the Fox Hole: Inspiring True Stories of Miracles on the Battlefield” by Charles W. Sasser.
A new young adult book is “Puppy Love” by Nancy Krulik.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books “Penny the Pony Fairy” by Daisy Meadows, “Monster Blood for Breakfast” by R. L. Stine and “The Sign of the Sinister Sorcerer” by Brad Strickland. New picture books are “Attack on the High Seas!” by Brian James and “The Cardboard Piano” by Lynne Rae Perkins.
Snow Bears! is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, January 13 and Thursday, January 15. Storyhour is held on Tuesday and Thursday from from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten
