The Niobrara County Library Virtual Library is soon to arrive! We’re in the process of building the collection and would love to know what you would want to read on an eReader or other mobile device! Please stop by the library or email dsturman@niobraracountylibrary.org with your wish lists! These ebooks will be compatible in July with most eReaders, iPads, iPhones, iPods (3rd or 4th generation) and many phones! Amazon Kindle compatibility is expected by the end of the year.

Newspapers from many Wyoming communities are available at the library – stop in and sit a spell while catching up around the state!

The movie, “Megamind” will be shown on Thursday, June 16 at 1 p.m. “Despicable Me” is slated for Thursday, June 23. This film is rated PG and 95 minutes. In “Despicable Me”, Gru is planning the biggest heist in the history of the world – stealing the moon! He vanquishes all who stand in his way – until the day he encounters three orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad. The library provides the popcorn; you need to bring your own drink.

Richard North Patterson’s newest book is “The Devil’s Light.” Bin Laden announces to the world that he will trigger a nuclear explosion on the anniversary of 9/11. Brooke Chandler of the CIA thinks he knows how to locate the weapon and where Bin Laden intends to use it. Against the skepticism of the White House and his superiors, Chandler launches a quest to find and destroy the bomb before a tragedy strikes.

Other new fiction books include “Quick Silver” by Amanda Quick, “The Pale King” by David Foster Wallace, “Once Upon a Time There Was You” by Elizabeth Berg, “Fifth Witness” by Michael Connelly, “Phantom Evil” by Heather Graham, “A Kingdom Besieged” by Richard E. Feist and “Mobbed” by Carol Higgins Clark. A new book for the young adult is “The Law of Angels” by Cassandra Clark.

New non-fiction books are “Powering the Dream: the History and Promise of Green Technology” by Alexis Madrigal, “The Floor of Heaven: a True Tale of the Last Frontier and the Yukon Gold Rush” by Howard Blum and “After a Loved One Dies: How Children Grieve and How Parents and Other Adults Can Support Them” by David J. Schonfeld.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new books “Chasing the Crown” by Wendy Loggia, “Phantom of the Opera” by Lisa Mullarkey and “The Clone Wars: Slaves of the Republic” by Henry Gilroy. Also available is “Dodsworth in Rome” by Tim Egan.
