Have you ordered your peaches? Monday, July 30 is the last day to order fresh Palisade, Colorado peaches that will be available to pick up at the library on Tuesday, August 7 or Wednesday, August 8. A half-bushel is $40 and proceeds will be matched through the Wyoming Public Library Endowment Challenge. In Niobrara County each dollar raised is matched by $3! The movie, The Pacifier will be shown on Thursday, August 2 at 1:30 p.m. The film is rated PG and is 95 minutes. The library provides the popcorn, bring your own drink.
A new fiction book is “Little Century” by Anna Keesey. After the death of her mother, 18-year-old Esther Chambers heads west in search of her only living relative, a cattle rancher in Oregon. There she homesteads land near her cousin’s ranch, but she soon discovers a range war is brewing – cattle against sheep – and she finds her sympathies divided between her cousin and a sheepherder named Ben Cruff.

New non-fiction books are “Food in Jars: Preserving in Small Batches Year-Round” by Marisa McClellen, “The Seer” by Lars Muhl and “The Passage of Power” by Robert A. Caro.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior titles: “13 Treasurers” by Michelle Harrison, “Because of Mr. Terupt” by Rob Buyea and “Dark Fire” by Chris D’Lacey.
