Registration is now being accepted for the fall book discussion. The series, “Mirror, Mirror” features four plays that explore the meaning of the American experience. The first play, The Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller will be discussed on Tuesday, September 4 at 6 p.m. at the library. Wayne Deahl returns to lead the discussions. Other plays include A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, Fences by August Wilson and Buried Child by Sam Shepard. Thursday, August 16 “The Sword in the Stone” will be shown at 1:30 p.m. Only someone with honor, decency and inner strength can claim the throne of England by pulling out the enchanted sword that lies locked in a massive stone. Many have tried, so it seems impossible that a young apprentice could succeed. But with the guidance of the wizard Merlin, help from some hilarious friends and true strength of character, the young apprentice just might become England’s greatest king.

Nora’s carefully constructed life falls to pieces when she learns of the infidelity of her husband. Humiliated and hounded by the press, Nora and her daughters take refuge on Burke’s Island where her mother had disappeared at sea decades ago. Events unfold and force Nora to find the courage to chart her own course and finally face the truth about her marriage, her mother, and her long-buried past.

“Raising Boys with ADHD: Secrets of Parenting Healthy, Happy Sons” by James W. Forgan, Ph.D., is now available on the non-fiction shelf as well as “Up the Winds and Over the Tetons: Journal Entries and Images From the 1860 Raynolds Expedition” edited by Marlene Deahl Merrill.
