The movie, “The Smurfs 2” will be shown at the library on Friday, December 6 at 1:30 p.m. This sequel finds the Smurfs on a globe-trotting wild adventure. The library provides the popcorn; please bring your own drink, the film is rated PG and 105 minutes.
A new holiday novel is “Spirit of Steamboat” by Craig Johnson. Sheriff Walt Longmire is in his office on December 24th when a young woman comes in and asks him for help in locating the former sheriff Lucian Connally. At the Durant Home for Assisted Living when Lucian denies knowing her, she whispers “Steamboat” which takes them all back to Christmas Eve 1988 – and the “Spirit of Steamboat.” This book will be featured throughout 2014 as a One Book, One Wyoming pick. A new title for the young adult is “Sandstorm” by Wyoming author, Steve Rzasa. The sequel to “Crosswind,” this science-fiction duo is sure to be a hit.
“My Story” by Elizabeth Smart, “Circling Back Home: a Plainswoman’s Journey” by Darcy Lipp-Acord and “The Kinfolk Table: Recipes for Small Gatherings” by Nathan Williams are all now available in the new non-fiction section.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books, “Collision Course” by Greg Farshtey and “Adventures in the Wild” by Simcha Whitehill. New easy holiday book include “The Perfect Christmas Pageant” by Joyce Meyer and “The Christmas Wish” by Lori Evert.
