The Friends of the Library’s Hey Kids! program took a new look this year by having prizes for children that met their reading goals all summer long. The premise of the program is that children choose how many books (or pages) that they can read each week and then each time that goal is met twice a certificate for either ice cream at the BQ Corral or swimming at the Tiger Plunge are received. This year the hope was to encourage children to continue to read library books all summer by investing in large prizes. Winners were: Lily Canaday, Kale Hammer, Dalton Larson, Danni Larson, Kaylynn Maxwell and Ryan Youngquist who read the most books with close to 150. Bristol Cardwell, Corbin Matthews and Sidney Southwick also received prizes.
