One of our newer novels is “The Scorched Earth.” Started in 1984, this is Wyoming’s, W. Michael Gear’s first historical fiction novel. The Civil War tore at the very roots of our nation and destroyed most of a generation. To truly understand the madness and despair of such a horrendous conflict, one needs to pick a moment – or see the war through one family’s eyes. In rural Arkansas such was the Hancock’s. Devastated by a cruel war, they faced down their personal hells and in spite of it all they survived – a testament to the power of love – and the American spirit.

Other new fiction books “Queen Anne’s Lace” by Susan Wittig Albert, “I’ve Got My Eyes On You” by Mary Higgins Clark, “Winter Moon” by Lauran Paine, “The Sixth Day” by Catherine Coulter, “An Amish Heirloom” by Amy Clipston, “The First Family” by Michael Palmer, “Dead Girl Running” by Christina Dodd, “Welcome to Moonlight Harbor” by Sheila Roberts and “Adjustment Day” by Chuck Palahniuk. “Ace of Shades” by Amanda Foody is among new YA titles.
