“Christmas by the Sea” by Melody Carlson is another new holiday novel. When Wendy Harper inherits her family’s beachside cottage in Seaside, Maine, she sees it as way to finally pay off all the debts that have mounted since her husband died. Her 12-year –old son, Jackson, sees it as an exciting new start in life that has grown rather gray without his father. They move in, temporarily she reminds him, in order to fix the place up before Christmas, but the lure of the sea and a fresh start – is hard to resist.

“The Lego Christmas Ornaments Book: 16 Designs to Spread Holiday Cheer” by Chris McVeigh and National Geographic’s “Journeys of a Lifetime: 500 of the World’s Greatest Trips” edited by George W. Stone are available in the new non-fiction section.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior titles, “Finding Langston” by Lesa Cline-Ransome, “So Done” by Paula Chase and “A Story Like the Wind” by Gill Lewis. Some of the newer easy titles are “Where’s Santa Boo?” by Salina Yoon, “Snow Pony and the Seven Miniature Ponies” by Christian Trimmer, “Biscuit’s Christmas Story Book” by Alyssa Satin Capucilli and “Duck and Hippo Give Thanks” by Jonathan London.
“Hello Santa!” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays throughout the year for children age 3 through kindergarten. Call 334-3274 to hear a recorded story, Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
