The second of four investment seminars will be held on Thursday, February 27 at 5:30 p.m. at the library. Stocks may play a major role as investors try to reach their long-term financial goals. This presentation shares basic information to help investors evaluate how this type of investment may fit into an overall strategy. Stocks: The Nuts and Bolts looks at common versus preferred stock, dividends, investment strategy and different ways to own stock. The seminar concludes at 7 p.m.

The movie, “Frozen 2” will be shown at the library on Friday, February 28 at 1:15 p.m. The library provides the popcorn; please bring your own drink.

LegoTime begins on Tuesday, March 10 from afterschool until 4:30 for all ages. On Thursdays, beginning March 12 Board Games will be held from afterschool until 4:30 p.m., this is also for all ages.

Sandra Dallas’s latest novel is “Westering Women.” In February 1852 Maggie and her small daughter join forty-three other women and two pious reverends on a dangerous 2,000 mile journey to the gold mines of Goosetown. None of them are prepared for they hardships they will have to face or the triumphs of finding strengths they didn’t know they possessed. Not all will make it, but it becomes clear that a band of sisters will do whatever it takes to protect each other. This book is also available digitally in Overdrive and the Cloud Library.

New non-fiction books are “If You Tell: a True Story of Murder, Family Secrets, and the Unbreakable Bond of Sisterhood” by Gregg Olson, “Guilty By Reason of Insanity” by David Limbaugh and “The Instant Pot Diabetes Cookbook: Simple Recipes for Healthy Home Cooking” by Nancy S. Hughes.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior titles, “Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid: Rowley Jefferson’s Diary” by Jeff Kinney, “Mr. Penguin and the Fortress of Secrets” by Alex T. Smith and “Ali Cross” by James Patterson. A few of the newer easy books are “Snail & Worm All Day” by Tina Kugler, “I Got Next” Daria Peoples-Riley, “Always More Love” by Erin Guendelsberger and “Little Mole’s Wish” by Sang-Gun Kim.

“Teddy Bear & Friends!” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday for children age 3 through kindergarten. Call 334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story. Dia-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
