“Blame in on the Bellboy” is the featured film on Monday, April 28 at 6 p.m. Mix-ups, mishaps, madness and mayhem…it’s all part of the service in this hotel in Venice! A light meal will be available. Library programs are free and open to the public.

Newcastle author and historian, Lucas Keeler will present his latest book, “Hank Mason and the Bear” at the library on Wednesday, April 30 at 6 p.m.  It was May 19, 1893 that Hank Mason would meet a massive silver tip grizzly bear, cementing his place in Black Hills folklore. From his humble beginnings on his family’s farm in Upstate New York to his final years in Wyoming, the true story of Hank Mason, the bear, along with others will finally be told. Keeler will have copies of his book available.

“The Keeper” is Charles Martin’s latest novel. Murphy Shepherd is involved in the fight against human trafficking along with his long-time friend and silent partner Aaron Ashley – the current U.S. Vice President. When Aaron’s three daughters are taken from their home by a team that left no clues, no trace, only an empty house, a bereft mother and 9 dead secret service agents, Murphy and his team are the only hope of finding them. “The Keeper” is also available digitally in Libby.

Other new fiction books include “Rio Fuego” by Wayne D. Dundee, “Second Chance Season” by Emily March, “The Writer” by James Patterson, “Flirting With Alaska” by Belle Calhoune, “A Dragon of Black Glass” by James Rollins, “Overkill” by J.A. Jance and “Killer Trail” by Joseph Chadwick. “Sunrise on the Reaping” by Suzanne Collins is among new young adult fiction.

New nonfiction books include “Four Red Sweaters: Powerful True Stories of Women and the Holocaust” by Lucy Adlington and “Moving Beyond the Covid-19 Lies: Restoring Health & Hope for Humanity” by Bryan Ardis.

The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books “The Great Space Iguana” by Judd Winick, “It’s All or Nothing, Vale” by Andrea Arango and “Lost and Found in the City” by Cam Higgins. Among the newer picture books are “Do Not Open This Book, It Stinks” by Andy Lee, “Little Freddie Two Pants” by Drew Daywalt, and “The Teeny-Weeny Unicorn’s Great Big Wish” by Shawn Harris.

“Make a Wish!” is the theme for Storyhour on April 29, 2025. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children. Call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story! Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
