Library hours are changing effective December 2. The hours will be Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday Noon to 7 p.m. The only change is on Friday. The final film in the “Favorites” Dinner and Movie series will feature “True Grit” on Monday, November 25 at 6 p.m. The film stars Hailee Steinfeld, Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin and is rated PG-13. A meal will be available; library programs are free and open to the public.
Mark your calendar for the Friends of the Library Annual Homemade Christmas Cookie, Candy, Soup & Bread Sale! The event will be held on Wednesday, December 11 beginning at 3 p.m. You can select cookies and candy by the pound or premade plates. Proceeds help fund the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, programming and more!
Louise Erdrich’s latest novel is “The Mighty Red,” a story of tender humor, disturbance, and hallucinatory mourning. In the Red River Valley of North Dakota, Gary Guest is a young man set to inherit two farms and who is desperate to marry Kismet Poe, an impulsive, lapsed Goth. Hugo, a gentle home-schooled, red-haired giant is also in love with Kismet and if he has his way, she’ll be his – but what about the powerful forces that threaten to upend them all? “The Mighty Red” is also available digitally.

The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter book titles, “Moose Hunt: Lost in Alaska” by Emily L. Hay Hinsdale, “The Game Changer” by Lane Walker and new additions to “The Imagination Station” series by Marianne Hering.
